What is Cyclohexane?

Cyclohexane is used as a solvent to dissolve fats, oils, waxes, resins, lacquers, cellulose ethers, bitumen, and crude rubber. It is used to remove paint and varnish; to produce nylon 6 and nylon 66; production of perfumes; extract essential oils; to determine molecular weight; and to make solid fuel for camp stoves.

Is Cyclohexane hazardous?

Cyclohexane can irritate the skin, eyes, nose, and throat. Prolonged exposure can cause a skin rash, dryness, itching, and redness. It is a dangerous fire hazard.
